PTA Mom!

After spending Dylan's entire Kindergarten year working full-time, I was so excited to be able to be more involved in his education. So this year I joined the PTA, volunteered at some school events, and volunteered in his classroom twice a week.

I absolutely loved doing it!! Today was "Volunteer appreciation day" at school. We started out with refreshments in the library, and then we joined the entire school in the quad for the flag assembly. All the volunteers received a recognition certificate and a coffee mug. Both of which were cute...but not as cute as Dylan's entire class in the back of the crowd smiling and waving at me...even his teacher!

I will definitely be involved next year, as well...hopefully even more!

Help Dylan's School!!

To all those out there without school age children of their own to help...
Please help Dylan collect Box Tops for his school!

Basically this program is FREE money for schools. This is a great program, because the schools are really in need of extra money...I'm sure you all know about those horrible budget cuts!

All we have to do is clip the box tops from various products from the grocery store...i.e. food labels, etc. We turn them in, and the school gets paid from the company!

No pressure, I just thought since a lot of you are throwing these away, it would be perfect if I could raise some money!

This is what the boxtops look like....

Here is the website that says what products have boxtops...otherwise, just look at your food packaging, it may be there!

Thank you so much!!

Jon & Kate

I have been waiting for this season to start...it has been hyped up, and we've all seen them in the tabloids.

I'm not exactly sure why, but I love this show. Dylan loves it, too, and he has asked me multiple times when they can come visit us, and he has planned where in our little apartment each person will sleep. He'd be so mad for me telling everyone, but he has a crush on Mady. Haha.

Ok so, I feel so bad for this family. In the beginning of the series, they were so happy. Sure, they had spats, and I know the majority of people think she's horrible. I am half and half on that. I see how taking care of 8 kids can shorten your fuse a little. It can be overwhelming taking care of 2. She sometimes gets carried away. But she's not by any means a bad mother. Maybe she's a little caught up in the "fame", but I believe for the most part that she is doing this for the kids. And I love Jon. He is so sweet, and such an amazing father. I can't even imagine what it has been like for him. Father of 8 by the age of 28!! Wow!

I don't care what anyone says, I hope they work it out. My Mondays won't be the same if they don't. Ha.

Girlie Spa Day!! Saturday May 23rd

Pure Bliss. That's what this day was.

I met my lovely Sonia at her house this morning at 10:30. Our first stop was the nail salon, where we had manicures and pedicures. After this, we went to Burke Williams Spa, where we had massages. Did I mention pure bliss? It was amazing. There's something about Burke Williams that eases your stress as soon as you walk in the door. I felt so renewed after my massage, I was glowing.
After our massages, we went to lunch. It was a beautiful day, so we sat on the patio & ate & talked for a while. Then we did some shopping. I ended up with 2 really cute summer dresses.
We met up with Cody & Dylan & Madison after our day, and went to dinner at Wockano. More like Wack-cano. Not a fan. Bleh.

It was a wonderful day, spent with one of my absolute favorite people in the world!!

Friday, May 22nd

Today was the Dance Festival at Dylan's school. They do this every year, and basically every parent of every student in the entire school crowds around in a circle, and all the grades do a dance to a song. This year the 1st grade danced to a High School Musical song...Push It To The Limit. They were SO cute out there, and one of their moves was the sprinkler!! He loved it, and I think I've seen the sprinkler 50 times since!

I went in to Shamrock today to see my boys, and to get another tattoo. It was a great day to come in, because I got to see everyone! Natasha & Ezec were there with little Dillinger...he is so cute. Check out the new friends.

Photobucket

Kaves was tattoing for the day...and he was tattooing Slaine, so I got to see them while they are in town. Hobin was there, and Amanda came by, and Danny came by as well. So nice to see everyone in one place! Maddie got everyone's attention, especially Danny's. She loves him already, and always smiles when he is talking to her. So cute!

Needless to say, Mark did an amazing job as usual. I couldn't be happier. With Mark, the company & conversation is half of the tattoo experience. Cody & I are lucky to have him in our lives. Sort of our extended family. Anyway, here is his latest masterpiece!

And here are the 3 of us. I know Maddie will appreciate this picture in 16 years or so!

Coincidentally today is also Maddie's 4 month birthday!!

Saturday May 16th, almost caught up!!

Today was another very busy day!
We woke up late and had to rush to the park for Dylan's T-ball pictures. We just made it. Right after that, we went to the park for his T-ball game. He ROCKED!! I love watching him play...he is so cute.

One of our favorite families ever was in town, the lovely B's. We went to lunch at BJ's, then Eden & I went riding. I have wanted to ride horses with her for a long time, and I had a great time! I wish we could do it more often!! Then we all went to the Grove for a little shopping, met up with another of our favorite friends ever, Hobin, and went to Lala's for dinner, where Danny & Treasure (to sound repetitive)our favorite friends ever met us. We had great conversation & great food.

It was a lovely day spent with those we love. The best way to spend a day. Oh, I rhymed. Hehe.

Thursday May 14th

Today, after school, Dylan had his very first audition, for a movie!! I think he did very well, for his first time, and it was a great experience for future things!

Wednesday, May 13

Today was a busy day!

We started out with Dylan's headshots. A wonderful lady named Deidhra did them...she and her husband were so friendly & so nice to Dylan. They had this Kermit the frog puppet that made Dylan laugh, he loved that puppet. Ok, so here they are...

After headshots, we went to see an acting coach. She worked with Dylan on his first real audition tomorrow, for a MOVIE!!

After this, we grabbed a bite, then Dylan had a t-ball game.
After all this, it was nice to be home!!

Tuesday, May 12

Today was Dylan's first audition!! Well, technically it wasn't an audition. It was for a print ad for an anti-meth PSA, so he just had to stand there while they took his picture. It went well!

After that, we went over to Danny's for some Thai food and Connect 4 action!

Teacher Appreciation

This week is "Teacher Appreciation" week at Dylan's school. This is what we made!

Photobucket

The red one is a candy jar that looks like a gumball machine, and the other one is a pot I painted & put flower & herb garden seeds in.

This is about as creative as I get, folks. :)

Happy Birthday Dylan!!

Monday was Dylan's actual birthday!! It was also the day after our crazy weekend at Disney, so I let him stay home from school. We opened some presents in the morning before Cody went to work, and the rest of the day I let him do whatever he wanted...which of course meant playing an obscene amount of video games!

Can I just take a moment to say that I cannot believe I am the mom of a 7-year old?! It's amazing. He has changed my life in every single way, and I am so thankful!! Of course I could go on & on about how perfect & gorgeous he is...but you already know. :)

Disneyland Weekend!!

It’s the weekend I have been looking forward to!! Dylan’s Disneyland Birthday Weekend!!! We brought Dylan & his best friend, and we stayed at the Disneyland Hotel. My best friend Jennifer met us out there with her mom & her kids, too. It was an AMAZING weekend!!

We started Saturday morning, EARLY, and we let Dylan open a couple of his presents before we left.

Dylan was so brave today, too! Usually he is a little scared to go on all the rides, but not today! I went on Space Mountain with him, and halfway through the ride I asked him if he was ok, and he yelled "I'm GREAT!!". He also LOVED the Matterhorn!

The next day was Mother's Day. My first Mothers Day as a mother of 2. I feel like the luckiest mom ever, and also the luckiest wife!! This is what was delivered...right to our hotel room!! My husband is so thoughtful!!

We had breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen. It's a character buffet, which the kids loved. What other chance do you get to have chicken nuggets, waffles, jello and mac'n'cheese all in the same meal?

Goofy tried to help make Maddie stop crying...

Dale chipped in, too...

Next stop...CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE!!

Check out Maddie's cute outfit!!

We had a great day, but I think the boys started to get sick of each other...there was a lot of bickering. We took them on Tower of Terror, and it didn't go so well either. Dylan was already scared to go on, but he did it anyway, and when I looked over during the ride, he was crying. He was so scared. He said "My butt was flying and I thought I was upside down!!". When Aidan saw him crying, he started crying, too. Poor kids.
Anyway, it was fun, but we all were SO ready to go. I loved taking both kids, but it will be a long time before I do it for an entire weekend again!

Here are some pics!

I never let Dylan jump on his bed at home, but it's kind of a tradition that he gets to jump on the bed at the hotel.

This was one of the few moments I was able to get all the kids to sit still.

Thursday April 30th – Saturday May 2nd

Finally a little getaway! We left Thursday morning and drove up to Monterey, where we met my Dad, Trish, Aunt Debbie and Grandma Becky. We stayed close to the ocean, and it didn’t matter where you stood, it was beautiful!! We spent Friday checking out all the coves & beaches. Would you believe I forgot to charge my camera battery?! Of course I would do this when I am in one of the most beautiful places ever!! Anyway, Dylan loved exploring the tide pools, and we went for a walk around the coves and saw mama seals and their pups laying all over the beach. This is the one picture I managed to take before the camera died.

This doesn't even begin to describe how pretty it was, but it's all I got!

Blogging Before Bed!

My Mom got into town today for a visit! We don't get to see her enough, so it's always nice to see her...I think she was mostly missing her Grandbabies.

Granddad picked Dylan up from school today & they went to play golf. Apparently this is going to become a weekly thing. Awh, bonding time!

And since Grandma is in town, she offered to babysit the kids so that Cody & I could have a date night. Thus, giving her more time with them. Of course we took her up on this! We went to Babies R Us & bought *very necessary* baby stuff, and Cody picked out some of the cutest outfits I have ever seen! I had no idea he had such good taste in girlie-baby-clothes! After this, we went to a great little Italian restaurant, where Cody made sure he had a perfect view of the TV behind the bar so that he could watch the Laker/Rocket game. How romantic, I know. Haha. It was a great night, but I still couldn't wait to get home to my babies.

A Carmel & Monterey Weekend!

I finally had a mini-vacation!! My step-mom Trish has been planning this trip for my Dad’s 50th birthday for a while now. He has always wanted to play golf at Pebble Beach in Carmel. So we met them up there for a few days after, and had the best time ever!! My Grandma Becky & Aunt Debbie also went out there, so it was nice to have everyone together.
On Friday, we went to the tidepools. Dylan, Cody & my Dad had a great time exploring for creatures. Apparently this is baby season for the seals, because all the coves were roped off. Mama & baby pups need their privacy! We did catch a little peek though, from the road, and it was the cutest thing ever! There was a mama and baby on the sand, nursing, and just relaxing in the sun. Beautiful!
All in all, it was a great mini-vaca. And much needed. I’m glad I got to spend some time with my family, and I wish I got to see them more!! I would have had a million great pictures, but my camera battery died! Grrr...
Now we’re back home, and it’s a busy week! It’s teacher appreciation week at school, so we are working on some gifts for our favorite teachers. We also have a t-ball practice and I have to get us all ready for Dylan’s birthday weekend at Disneyland!! So excited!! Hope everyone has a great week!
